Policy on Exemption from Mandatory Education (Year 1 Deferral)

Policy Statement

  • The deferment to Year 1 is an exception from compulsory education based on the age cohort given to children who require it. However, this deferment is a privilege, not a right. Regular schooling is prioritized for children because it provides an opportunity for children to interact with each other.
