OBJECTIVES

To provide educational opportunities and facilities for students with special needs;
To deliver appropriate and relevant education to every student with special needs;
To provide opportunities to nurture the talents and potential of students with special needs;
To provide sufficient and up-to-date teaching and learning materials; and
To ensure an adequate number of trained educators in the field of Special Education.

FUNCTIONS

To expand access to and equity in education for students with special needs (MBK) through Special Education Schools, Special Education Integration Programmes, and Inclusive Education Programmes
To strengthen operational strategies of Special Education Schools, Special Education Integration Programmes, and Inclusive Education Programmes;
To develop the human capital of students with special needs according to their potential and enhance employability across various fields;
To develop human resource capacity at the Division, Special Education Schools, Special Education Integration Programmes, and Inclusive Education Programmes;
To enhance disability-friendly infrastructure and a conducive learning environment in Special Education Schools, Special Education Integration Programmes, and Inclusive Education Programmes;
To strengthen support services and assistance for special education; and
To enhance organisational governance of the Division.

CLIENT CHARTER

To inform the outcome of special education teacher placement no later than nine (9) working days after receiving the placement allocation by the Division.
To inform the outcome of special education teacher transfers no later than four (4) working days after the online decision is announced.
